from handle to handle & 16 inches (57cm) wide
Elkington & Co., founded in Birmingham in the 1840s, pioneered electroplate, electrotyping, Sheffield silver and more
Silver is laid over base metals of brass and nickel.

The "X" dates the object to 1862.
