Jacques-Michel DUNOYER was born in Arras (France) on June 20th, 1933. He lived in Saint-Paul de Vence, a small medieval village located on the outskirts of Nice on the French Riviera.
Jacques-Michel Dunoyer passed away in January 2000 at the very peak of his artistic power. He has now returned to the world of nature he loved so much and that he painted endlessly. For all of us he will remain forever present in the candid freshness of his flowers, at every turn of small sunlit pathways of Provence, in the calm reflection of his tranquil lakes.This remarkable, self-taught artist has become one of the world's best-collected living impressionists.
Dunoyer has travelled the length and breadth of France in quest of his delicately balanced landscapes. Long ago, nature became his master and he has made it appear on his canvases from interior forests with autumn colors to shadowed streams and fields sprinkled with spring flowers. The richness of his palette never offends the eye for he belongs to the rare group of artists who create harmony.
